The project “lives healthy in Rezekne District!” as part of the Rezekne municipality, another project activity is offered in January of that year - “lessening of muscles and skeletal diseases in pre-school educational institutions and school”. These activities are managed by certified sports specialists employed by the “Multifunctional Support and Growth Centre” “SkalaDar”. Lessons are organized remotely, i.e. in online mode, one-off duration of 45 minutes. 

According to studies carried out in Latvia, only 21% girls and 23% boys are seen from all children living in Latvia, the others need to make corrections or even more serious treatment. The cause of immediate and back health problems is the long-term time in one forced posture, the carrying of heavy backpacks or any other heavy objects as well as a low-moving lifestyle.

The good news is that it is possible to stop and even adjust the problems, particularly early, i.e. at the age of the child, and in elderly people, to improve self-feeling, reduce or prevent pain. 

The purpose of this project is to promote the promotion of physical activity or active lifestyle in society. During the course of the lesson, symmetrical formation of musculoskeletal enhancement is encouraged, stimulating the development of flexibility, agility and coordination, improved physical strength. 

In the month of January, the first four activities of THE project WERE organised AT Silmalas pre-school educational institutions for two groups of children. The lesson was directed by a certified sports specialist Ivars Upenieks (a “B” certificate with the right to work in sport for a trainer in athletics). 

Lessons from February will also be continued in other pre-school educational institutions and schools that have expressed their willingness to participate in this project activity. This type of lesson will also be offered to the children of Rezekne and to the clients of the social care institution. 

“Actions for the reduction of muscles and skeletal diseases in pre-school educational institutions and school” are performed “live healthy in Rezekne municipality” by the municipality of Rezekne. No 9.2.4.2/16/I/027. The project is financed by the European Social Fund.
